Is Meterza free to use?
Yes. Meterza is completely free, with no subscription, trial, or paid tier. It is supported by small in-app advertisements.
Does Meterza work without an internet connection?
Yes. Adding tenants, recording meter readings, calculating bills, and reviewing history all work fully offline. A connection is only used to load ads.
How do I compute a tenant’s electricity bill from meter readings?
Subtract the previous meter reading from the current one to get consumption, then multiply by your rate per kWh. Meterza does this automatically each time you record a reading, and stores the rate used so past bills stay accurate.
Can I track water sub-meters as well as electricity?
Yes. Each tenant can have both an electricity and a water meter, with separate serial numbers, initial readings, and rates per kWh and per cubic metre.
Can I charge a fixed monthly amount instead of billing by meter?
Yes. Any tenant can be set to fixed billing, where a flat monthly amount is charged instead of a metered calculation.
Where is my data stored, and is it private?
Everything stays in a private database on your own phone. Meterza has no account system and no server, so your tenant records are never uploaded to us.
How do I move my records to a new phone?
Export a backup file from Backup & restore, save it somewhere you control such as Google Drive or Messenger, then install Meterza on the new phone and restore from that file.
Do I need a Google account to use Meterza?
No. There is no registration, login, or account of any kind. Install the app and start recording readings.
